How do they do this?

I love looking at quilts.  Someday I would love to make one like this.  Not this dark. I love how it flows.
I know my kids will give me a hard time about my rainbow look again.
The time, the planning, the material, the start of this whole project must have always been the center of this quilters world.
I have never started or finished a project this big and probably never will.
