Through Myra's Eyes

Good bye April 2014

It's hot enough today to go surfing!!
You never would believe i would have a surf board parked in my living room but, with the smallest house in this town, somethings find a place in the oddest spots.

It's the end of April and I don't have everything done on my "to do" list...not at all a surprise. I could make a list of excuses but, then that would be another list to read.

I saw a interesting list to make. Name all the places you have lived.
Mine is pretty much on the boring side but here goes.
1. Pico Rivera, Ca
2. La Palma, Ca
3. Buena Park, CA
4. This unknown city, Ca

         or

1. Mom and Dad's house

2.Part time with Todd
3. On my own with kids
4. In my car
5. In the smallest house ever

It really makes you think where you have been in life.

Tomorrow is May 2014.

Let's see how much I can get done....lol

I hear that challenge again!!

I could start with cleaning!! Cleaning out every cupboard, cleaning out the closets, cleaning out the storage unit, cleaning out car's, cleaning out the garden, cleaning oh cleaning.  Why is it easier to clean at someone else place then it is at your own place?
Maybe I should craft again and make some cards.  I really miss having mail. Getting a letter in my P.O. Box always makes me smile. I pay for this mail box I should use it better.
Getting a handle on exercise would be another challenge.  Just getting out on my bike would be a start. I can go off on my own, I have done it before.
Getting more sleep would be a huge challenge.  I found myself last week taking a nap that turned into a whole night of sleep.  I really felt better when I heard the brutal alarm.
Well, maybe I should chit-chat more on my blog and see if it gets me to do more!!
I have all night to think about what I should do for the month of May.
I use to think I should ask "May I help you?", but maybe it should be " May I help myself"?
What ever you get started doing I hope its a good month and if you get paid every other week like me, we get three check's...YES!!!
Keep Smiling it's working for you!
Until next time, Hugs, My

Time to share

It's a Lunar Eclipse....in the middle of the night.
My camera or just me couldn't make a good picture.  But I saw it and then slept for two hours and went to work and while I was driving didn't think about looking to see if it was white again
My camera can do some odd things and this looks really cool...so I thought I would share it
Even thou its not the best picture..can you see a face? Maybe it's just me day dreaming looking at the moon...lol
My rose bush that I got for Valentines day.  SO excited that it bloomed!
Every time I take a picture of something on my door step, I find that the man next door's car is the focus point..lol  He is a lucky man to drive such a beautiful car and he deserves it.  I have the best neighbor ever.  They have the best parties like the one today.  They have a fun family
I have no idea what this plant is called but it has the best color. I'm going to try to cut a piece off and try it in another pot. I want more of these, it makes me smile.
It looks so big but it really isn't.  I might replant it so it will grow better.
I made this for the party today next door.  I think I did a good job.

I really hope you had a wonderful day.  It was so beautiful today and we had a great day out on the patio.
I'm so grateful to have my kids hang out and even thou the Easter Bunny doesn't come to our house anymore I still had a good day. Easter Bunny has come to our house for many years, I really miss the baskets. so I found a glass basket shaped like an egg at Goodwill so I bought it and put candy in it.
Have the best week ever and if you gave something up for 40 days enjoy it coming back.  I didn't give anything up, I did badly. I will try again!
Until next time, Keep Smiling you deserve it...My

A garden made for my parents

A place to make a garden, where the wind blows and tears flow for a sad day of a life gone to soon.
My parents have been together under this head stone since April 2005, not the spot I would have put them but, it's a place.
This time we decided to put a happy smile with red roses just for fun!
My mother loved her garden so I always try to make it better every time I go there.
This time we used bird of paradise with that hawaiian flower she loved so much.  Then I made five flower pots and put five different flowers in them from me and my four kids....so pretty.
The smile is so cute and the flower pot are so my mom.  I know this is what she would really enjoy.
My dad passed away in July 1982, I was just out of high school, it was the hardest time of my life. He would have loved my kids.
My mom passed when my kids were so young and hadn't had anyone pass away that was this close to them, I was so lost for words and had so much to do to be strong.  I did poorly but they have great memories of her due to me always having her included in everything we did together. We kept her busy being Grandma-Mom.  For so long they called her "Mom" because I called her Mom.
Their wedding picture. They were married on Sept. 18, 1948 with a party at her best friends house the MacDonald's.  A family my mom always called her family.
I see my daughter in my mom's face in this picture and everyday I see my mom in the mirror.
My dad loved my mom so much it was always in the air, they made a good life together away from all of their family. They started a family together and did it their way...the way it should be. Way to go Mom & Dad.
You are forever missed!

Road Trip to Santa Monica Pier

Welcome to California! It's April 4th, 2014, this is from the Santa Monica Pier.  The wind was cold but, the day out in fresh air was amazing.
I love to look at clouds and it was a day to be outside and look at the sky!
The water was so pretty today. We had so much fun just enjoying the time on the pier.
People were out fishing, and the bring their dogs..why?
The famous board walk in Santa Monica, CA.
You can't miss this when you are in the area.  It is also beautiful at night all lite up.  It's always a view the news use's to show the weather.
The wood board walk is uneven and Princess & I tripped a few times and laughed at each other.

This building has a carousel in it which was so pretty to watch.  We didn't go on it but went inside to get out of the wind for a little bit.
I also love the blue color on this building..it will help me for the next months search.
This is a sign I found on the pier. It shows all you can do on the pier.
Sun, fishing, family and rides.
We took a ride on the back of a bike and went down to Venice Beach. That was the best thing we did all day.  The guy told us about muscle beach and how it got started in Santa Monica.  A few ppl were out swinging from the rings and walking on the tight ropes.
California Sea gull..this one is pretty clean compared to some of the ones I have seen at other beaches.
They have a sound like no other bird and will take your food in a quick swipe.
Baby girl looking good sitting in the famous photo booth.
She is so much fun and so beautiful.  How I got so lucky I will never know!!
Everyone try's to make money any way they can on the pier. These two take picture's with you for a price.
When I went to take this picture it looked like Mickey was proposing to Minnie..hahaha.
I put my camera on Princess shoulder and took the picture...they never knew.
WE sure weren't going fishing that's for sure.  But had to take a cute photo like the rest of the ppl out there today.
Gotta love playing tourist!!

Had to take a picture of these ppl trying to get the right pose.  But, who was the stupid woman who left her Louie out there on the ground where dead fish have been??
We helped these ppl take a picture with their camera. It turned out great for them
This is from the end of the pier.  It looks like I'm on the water but I really am still on that bumpy wood.
What a great day in Santa Monica.
My kids play this game that has this area in it, so now Princess P can tell her friends she was there today.

What a great day.  We also bought a sweat shirt with Santa Monica on it, along with a key chain.
Parking was only a dollar an hour..not bad! We saw other parking for $12 a day...ouch!
