Today is "Warm".. would that be a blanket?
Tomorrow won't be to hard.
Then "Happiness" comes along on Wednesday.
Bedtime...that should be now, but I took a long nap and messed that up.
By Friday it's "My Passion"..I have a lot of those, just need to complete them.
Sparkle shouldn't be to hard.
Then Sunday I need to fly a kite or look for an airplane.

What ever you do with these I hope you have fun.

Photo A Day week 35

This looks like fun this week.
Do you think my kitchen sink would be my "on my desk"?
I don't have a desk. I have a place where the computer is but, it's not mine.
"Two things" I'm in need of ideas.
"Charming" is on Princess P birthday. I think she will want to be this one..lol

Good Luck, I hope you take some amazing pictures this week.

Today's Highlight?

I follow this blog from Au.
She always has that one picture that always makes you think.
It's only 2 in the afternoon and I haven't gotten out of my pj's..it's Sunday..no shame.
I really think I need to work on thinking about this on a daily.
A highlight?
When someone ask you "What's new?" what do you say? I know, sometimes I want to say something silly to catch them off guard and then maybe they won't ask again.
This is like a one line journal entry.
The truth is..I haven't had a highlight yet today so, I need to go find one and make it a good one at that.
I'm off to see what my highlight will be for today.
If I got a comment on this, now that would be a highlight for me.
Have a great day.

Green thumb 101

Just a little up date on my garden.
Under all those leaves is something so special...YES! a pumpkin is helping me win this green thumb challenge.
I'm so excited.
Here is one of three that is showing some great green thumb power.
Looks like another one will be in this race soon.
These are those poppies that I am hoping will become flowers some day soon!

I love my flower pot containers, they seem to work better for me then next to the grass in a flower bed lined with a piece of wood. The best part is I can move them around, keeps me happy. We all know how much I hate this house and I can't wait to find somewhere else to move real soon.

Her first year of "College"

My beautiful baby girl who I have named Princess P is starting college next week, along with turning 19 years old on Aug. 26.
Where has the time gone?
I remember bring her home & wondering how was I going to make her feel, not like the baby of the family but, a sister. She was loved the minute they all got to hold her. She learned what Saturday morning cartoons where, bath time in the kitchen sink, stickers from a coloring book, being rocked by small arms. Now college books.
What have I been doing for the past 19 years?
We all have many memories from these years but now I can't believe shes going to college.
I received my first welcome to college notice by way of a parking ticket. Who knew that you must pay to park on the outside circle of this campus when classes aren't in session. Well, I know now by the amount of $37.
Together we went to a Workshop to understand the classes she must take to get into this program.  I also found out the complete cost for her to complete this course. My W-2 forms from last year have a few to many good numbers to receive help..who knew its possible to work to much.
I hope she finds this is what she want to do, because I am going to work all those extra hours so she can do this.
Good Luck Princess P, you can do it! It won't take faith or luck just some long hours of studying! Here's the books and the chair that will be the start of your next journey in life. I love you & I want you to do more in life then I have, you so deserve it!

Ok so we had a little cry here but so worth it.
Have a great Saturday, thanks for stopping by.
I'm working on a story called "I see absolutely everything" with 150 words as a challenge. If you want to join me that is your first line and don't use more then 175 words or less then 125, good luck.

Something to think about

Do I make people feel great?  I have never asked someone if I make them feel great and nobody has every said to me that I make them feel great.  But, quietly I do my best to do good for others because it makes me feel good inside.  Maybe its the word "great" that I'm having a hard time getting. Great is such a strong word.  Am I great? When do we use great? Great job, have a great day, great adventure.
Over thinking this one...hahhaha

Cerritos Library, Books and Art Show

This is a wonderful library. We went to sit in the a/c because its about 95f today.
It is open on Sunday from 1p.m. to 5p.m. so its a great place to relax.
I found this book in the new book section by the front door.
When I picked it up I wasn't sure what I would be reading.  I think the word "courage" caught my eye. Something I'm still wondering if that is what I live off of.It's an interesting read & easy read too. I'm thinking about going back to find it & finish reading it, quickly. I love this picture of another book I had looked threw,my sunglasses & my cell phone my chocolate without the taste,LOL
I gave this book to Priness P, without looking to see what it was about, I just liked the cover, that is how I pick my books. It's about a lady who lost 140 pounds in a year due to someone asking her when her baby was due. You gain a few pounds and everyone thinks your having a baby. So we figured out that it's about 11 lbs. a month. As we are sitting in a fast food place we said, "Let's see if we can do it". I'm hopeful, and ready.
This is part of an art show going on, they always have something on exhibit.  This is made from fabric, so beautiful.  I love the eye and hand, so real to life. I know it must mean something to the maker.
Love the bike and the rider in the air look. The quilt pieces in the back are amazing. This is a winner.
I love this on so much. The photo doesn't show the amazing details. So much work went into it with amazing thread work.
I could see this on a coffee cup or a table cloth.  It's very pretty in person.
This is a work of art. So much to look at and the vision of where hes going and what he wants!
This screams "MASTER PIECE"! The time that must have taken this person to do this with all of the detail, just a beautiful piece of art. I hope it wasn't ment to be a blanket.
These two are so beautiful, its like mixed media vs. color of fabric. I love them both.
This one is beautiful I took two views of it. I love how it looks like your looking threw a window and the lights are shining in on it. Her face is so beautiful, I wonder if she is part of this persons life of them self.
She is so pretty I had to show more of the detail in this work of art.

There was also vases made from fabric that I wish now that I took a picture of. I guess at the time I didn't think I would post them.

That was my day outing with my camera.
Hope you had a great day too.

Knots Of Love at Orange County Fair in California

I found these amazing ladies who make beautiful caps for Knots of Love.
They thought they could teach me how to do it too..hahaha
I love how they all have a different style and tease each other who's way is easier.
I'm going to try to make a blanket.
I stood and talked to this amazing young girl who has a bright personality and I guess a pig as a pet!
She makes the cutest caps that were displayed at the fair.
Her name is Nat and has the biggest heart ever.
After walking away I thought..how can I save some money every month and send it to them so they can make more caps?  I know I can't make those beautiful caps. I'm going to take the recycle money I get from work and sent it to them.  I hope you will find it in your heart to help them too.
This is one of Nat's work of art!
We talked about this one and she showed me the funny in it as you need to look close and see that it has a tongue hanging out....good one!
This is what caught my eye at first.  Look at all the hours they put in to make these amazing caps! Yes they are sent to cancer patients.  What I read is that they are giving free of charge to people transitioning through the effects of chemotherapy or other life-threatening illnesses or injuries.
You can find them at Knotsoflove (dot) org
This one will need to go to someone really special, with a love of this movie.
I had to take a picture of it because how would I put into words what it looks like?
This is another part of their display.
Here are direction on how to make this blanket.
I am going to try this one. I need some yarn and a size I and J crochet hook.  Then some time on youtube to figure out how to SC in 2nd ch from hook.  DC in next ch. SC. DC across. Turn
Wish me luck!
This is the one they suggested that I start with, an easy cap.
They donate these to Neonatal Intensive care units across the country.
The endless hours of love go into all of what they do and it show's.
If you knit or crochet, I hope that you find out how to donate to this great group. I know that Nat will be forever grateful, along with all of those I met at the Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa, California.
The fair goes on until Aug. 16, hope you find time to visit.

I'm a gardener...Maybe

My little pumpkin plant. My friend next door and I are having a contest, who can get one to grow. It looks like I will have one, can you see the flower?
I am so excited, I didn't have hope for it two weeks ago but, now it looks like it has a chance.
There is a tomato plant to the left of this that isn't doing so good.
I really need to do some weeding now that I see it through a lens...hahaha
I have always wanted to have a planter of  California Poppies.  I am so hoping these will make it, so far so good.
I put the seed envelope in the pot so it doesn't look like its just dirt!

I've been away for a few weeks, time flies when your just trying to get some sleep and working less hours. I'm better now and I'm ready to get back to things that make me smile and laugh.
Went to Orange County Fair and met some amazing people that I want to share about and hopefully we can all help them with there endless love for their groups.
Smile the sun is out today!!
